How Money Affects Your Career, Confidence, and Life Choices (My Story)
Apr 06, 2026
Well, I did it. I started a podcast after thinking about it for years. There have been too many lessons and stories that need to be shared.
I Have So Much to Tell You is officially live, and do I ever have SO much to tell you.
If there’s one thing I’ve learned from working in finance, tax, and business for years, it’s this:
Money affects almost every major decision we make in our lives — especially our careers, our confidence, and the opportunities we believe are available to us.
But no one really teaches us how money actually works.
That’s why I started this podcast — and in this first episode, I’m sharing my story, how I became a CPA, how my career evolved, and why I care so deeply about financial literacy, career growth, and financial independence.
Because this podcast isn’t just about money.
It’s about options, confidence, and building a life where you have choices.
My Career Started in Accounting — But It Became About Much More

I started my career in accounting and became a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA). I worked with businesses, entrepreneurs, and growing companies, helping them understand their numbers, their taxes, and how to build financial systems to support growth.
On paper, it looked like a traditional career in accounting and finance.
But over time, I noticed something that changed how I saw my work completely:
The biggest problems people had were not math problems — they were confidence and decision-making problems.
I saw incredibly smart, capable people:
- Stay in jobs they hated because they were afraid financially
- Undercharge and undervalue their work
- Avoid negotiating salaries
- Delay starting businesses
- Stay in stressful situations because they didn’t feel financially secure
- Feel embarrassed that they didn’t “understand money”
And I realized something that has stayed with me ever since:
Financial literacy is not just about money. It’s about confidence and choice.
The Connection Between Money and Confidence
When you don’t understand your finances, everything feels riskier.
Changing jobs feels risky.
Starting a business feels risky.
Negotiating your salary feels risky.
Investing feels risky.
Even taking time off or going back to school can feel impossible.
But when you understand your money — your income, your taxes, your savings, your runway, your options — something changes.
You start making decisions from a place of confidence instead of fear.
And that is when careers change.
That is when businesses start.
That is when people negotiate.
That is when people leave situations that are no longer right for them.
That is when people start building real wealth and independence.
Money, when understood properly, becomes a tool — not a source of stress.
Why Financial Independence Matters (Especially for Women)
One of the things I care deeply about is financial independence, especially for women.
Not because everyone needs to be rich.
Not because money is the most important thing in life.
But because financial independence gives you options.
Options to:
- Change careers
- Leave a bad job
- Leave a bad relationship
- Start a business
- Take time off to raise a family
- Go back to school
- Retire earlier
- Work because you want to, not because you have to
Money gives you choices. And choices give you control over your life.
That’s why financial literacy matters so much more than people think.
Why I Started This Podcast
I started this podcast because after years of working in tax, accounting, and finance, I realized that what people really needed wasn’t just someone to file their taxes.
They needed someone to help them understand how money decisions connect to life decisions.
So this podcast will cover:
- Career growth and income growth
- Financial planning and financial independence
- Taxes and how they actually affect your life
- Starting and growing a business
- Salary vs dividends and how to pay yourself
- Major life decisions and the financial side of them
- Confidence, risk, and building a life with options
Some episodes will be educational.
Some will be personal.
Some will be interviews.
But all of them will come back to one core idea:
When you understand money, you make better life decisions.
Listen to Episode 1: My Story, Career, and Why This Podcast Exists
In this first episode, I talk about:
- My career journey and becoming a CPA
- What I learned working inside businesses
- How I saw money impact people’s life decisions
- Why financial literacy became my mission
- Why this podcast is about more than just money
If you’ve ever felt stuck in your career, unsure about money, or like everyone else understands money except you — this podcast is for you.

Final Thoughts: This Podcast Is About Building a Life With Options
At the end of the day, this podcast is not really about tax.
It’s not really about accounting.
It’s not really about spreadsheets.
It’s about helping you build a life where you have options.
Because when you have options:
- You make better decisions
- You have more confidence
- You take smarter risks
- You build independence
- You build a life that is designed — not accidental
And that’s what we’re going to talk about here.
